When I was doing this project, I tried my best to mix colors and such. I really wouldn't change anything about this project because I really like it a lot. I like how I went back through and highlighted every shape with white pen and I like how I used more tints than shaded. I'm really proud of this project and I love the way it turned out.

Senior Mural
So far I have learned that coming up with an idea for this is a lot harder than it seems.
I plan on adding flowers to the top and doing a gradient background to it.

Rembrandt
Artist: Rembrandt
I chose this image because it seems like the lady in the painting is calm and collected and seems to be enjoying reading her book.
Blog #15
It seems the artist uses bright colors on the flowers and dark colors in the background in order to make the flowers "pop!"
I chose this image because I thought it looked really pretty and unique.

Monochrome Portrait
I chose this image because blue is one of my favorite colors and I love the tints and shades that blue offers. They are just so pretty and vibrant. The fact that the artist used shades and tints of blues is what makes it monochromatic. They blended whites and blacks together to make the dark areas and highlighted areas of the painting.

Blog #12: My work
This is my galaxy painting so far. I have really enjoyed painting this because it makes me blend colors and make a galaxy looking watercolor painting.
Blog #13
The artist used white to do a lot of highlights within the water, the sky, the house, and even the bridge. They also used pigments in the leafs and trees that you don't see unless you look really closely, like pinks and blues.

Michelangelo
I've always been a fan of ceiling paintings, no pun intended. :) The Sistine Chapel painting has always been very intriguing to me because it must have taken a lot of time to paint on a canvas at such an awkward angle. I think it is a very beautiful piece of artwork.

What I've Learned
Over the past week I learned how to mix many colors and add tints and shades to them in order to make a color wheel. I put together a mandala and made it pretty and nice.

Salvador Dali
I chose this painting because I thought that it was really unique and an optical illusion. I really like elephants and I feel like this painting made me like them even more!

Bunny Watercolor
I think this painting is very interesting because it's a very light painting and the artist blends the background into the painting itself. One technique that the artist used it splattering the background.
Shades and Tints
I am currently working on my tints and shades and I think they are all coming along very nicely! Some of the colors I didn't think would come out nicely but they all came out nicely. I like how the tints turned out on all of them because they blend nicely to a lighter shade.

Blog #5 Mandala
I think this mandala is really pretty and I feel it would be even prettier if it was colored. It reminds me of a lotus flower. The artist used lines within the mandala to create a pattern and I think it gives it a unique look.

Things I`ve Learned
This week I learned how to add tints and shades to colors. Tints are when you add white to a color and it makes the color lighter. Shades are when you add black and it makes the color darker.

Things I've Learned
This week in painting I've learned how to mix colors and add white and black to make shades and tints of colors. I can also mix colors like red and blue to make purple or yellow and blue to make green and even red and yellow to make orange!

Interesting Artwork
I think this image is interesting because when we have a half moon, it is because the earth is in front of the moon, and this image represents that in a way. Instead of the actual earth, the girl is holding up a globe, creating the dark side of the moon. I think it is neat because I love space planets.

About Me.
I am a student from New Hampton High School. I live North of New Hampton near a very small town called Jerico, Iowa. In my free time I like to explore the technology of the internet and spend time with my friends and family. Some days I spend my time listening to music and drawing. I like listening to all kinds of music, however, country and pop are the genres I listen to the most. Something interesting about myself is that I absolutely love to travel and see new places. I hope that when I get older I can visit all of the 7 continents and visit many countries as well.
In my Painting class, I hope to learn new techniques and advance in my painting skills. To me, art is a way to express your individualism and ideas through a form of art media that you feel you advance at.
